Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) was founded in 1962, and was
originally named the higher preparatory School for Foreign Students. In 1964, it
was renamed as Beijing Language Institute by the State Council. And then in
1996, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was designated
as Beijing Language and Culture University. It is the only international
university in China with its main task set at teaching the Chinese language and
culture to foreign students.

Degree Program Course
Chinese Language Specialization is set up according to BLCU undergraduate education courses for overseas students. Chinese degree courses are generally classified into Chinese language skills, Chinese comprehensive courses and Chinese culture. Students will be awarded with Bachelor degree when complete all courses, get all credits and pass the graduation thesis.
Training Program Course
Chinese Courses include Chinese language, Chinese language skills, business Chinese and tourist Chinese. Chinese language skills can be divided into beginning, elementary, intermediate and advanced series, all series combining comprehensive with specialized training can make a steady progress.
HSK Preparation Course Series
HSK (elementary- intermediate) courses are compiled by BLCU teachers with full experience on teaching Chinese as second language and HSK
